Mercedes
Homes opened its headquarters in Melbourne, Florida in 1984. During our first
year we built 35 homes. Throughout the next ten years, eight
new divisions were established in the states of Florida and Texas:
Volusia, Treasure Coast, Orlando, Jacksonville and Tampa, Florida
and Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas. In 2000 and 2001 Mercedes
Homes opened four new divisions: Cape Coral, and "On Your Lot" divisions
in Florida; Charlotte, North Carolina and Vintage Custom Homes in
Texas.
In 2001 they sold over 3,200 homes and anticipate sales
in excess of 4,200 homes in 2002. As of January
2002, Mercedes Homes has built over 20,000 homes.
Currently, they are ranked as the 29th largest builder
in the United States according to Builder magazine's "Builder 100" edition, by
closings and gross revenue. In addition, they are ranked as the 47th
largest builder in the United States according to Professional Builder
magazine's "Giant 400 Listing" edition, by closings. And Top Rank
Florida magazine named Mercedes Homes the 7th largest Florida construction
firm in 2001.
